Invite People and Join a Pool
Create, share, rotate, and accept ordinary or Returning Participant Invites.
A Pool Invite is a shareable credential for joining one Active Pool. Ordinary invites can be used by more than one eligible person. Returning Participant Invites are person-specific and single-use.
Create or retrieve an invite
Creating a Pool mints an ordinary invite immediately and shows a copyable share link on the success screen.
Later, Pool Owners and Pool Admins can retrieve or manage that invite while admission is open:
- Open the Pool.
- Choose Pool.
- Under Pool Invite, choose Create / retrieve invite.
- Complete Step-up Verification when prompted.
- Choose Copy link and send the full link privately to the people you want to invite.
When the link is pasted into Messages or another app that shows link previews, recipients see the pool name and type before they open it. Opening the link still does not enroll anyone.
Only one ordinary Pool Invite is active at a time. It expires after the displayed time. Retrieving the active invite does not create a second credential.
Rotate an invite
Choose Rotate invite when the current link was shared too broadly or should no longer be accepted. Rotation invalidates the previous link immediately and creates a replacement. Send the replacement only to the intended people.
Do not paste an invite into an Abuse Report, public post, analytics field, or other place where unintended people could receive it.
Accept an invite
Opening an invite does not enroll you.
- Open the complete invite link.
- Sign in with an account that has a verified email address and phone number.
- Review the Pool name, type, and Start Week.
- Read and select the contact-visibility acknowledgment.
- Choose Accept invite.
After acceptance, Only Pools opens the Week Board. If you already belong to the Pool, choose Open Week Board instead.
Returning Participant Invites
A Returning Participant Invite comes from a Pool created with a prior-season template. It is tied to the invited Participant and may propose either Pool Member or Pool Admin.
Open the person-specific link, sign in with the invited account, review the proposed role and privacy disclosure, and choose Accept invite or Accept as Pool Admin. A different account cannot claim the invitation.
When admission closes
An ordinary or Returning Participant Invite cannot be accepted when:
- the earliest Start Week game has reached its scheduled kickoff;
- the Pool is Completed or Archived;
- the invite expired, was rotated, or was already used when person-specific; or
- membership admission is otherwise closed.
A later schedule change does not reopen admission after the cutoff has passed.
If an invite is unavailable
Ask the Pool Owner or Admin to check the link in the Pool’s Pool Invite section. They may need to retrieve the current invite or rotate it and send the replacement. Confirm that you opened the full URL and signed in with the correct account.
